Every BNL concert is different. Having studied the set lists for the past year, one can also see some patterns in how each show is set up. And I would imagine the tech guys don't want too many surprises each night!
So with three shows into the Fall Tour, here are some trends:
- 18 songs not including adlibs - Slots 1 - 3, 5, 11 and 13 - 18 are the same each night. - Slot 7 is Kevin. - Slots 8 - 10 are acoustic with one "deep cut." - Slots 4, 6 and 12 are "deep cuts."
The "deep cuts" or back catalog songs are always my favorites. The guys are always tinkering with them and it is always fun to hear "Another Spin" on an older song.
What is everyone else's favorite part of the concert?

Gotta agree with you on the deep cuts being the best. Very interesting thanks for pointing this out!

Ooh, thanks for the outline. I've definitely noticed some trends, but I hadn't sat down to figure them out.
Deep cuts are always an exciting part of the set list... there's always that chance of catching something you've never seen live before!
The medley/dance number at the end is also a treat the first time you see it. I do my best to avoid watching it beforehand so I'm surprised when I see it in a show.
I love hearing Kevin or Jim singing as well. It brings some variety to the show.
I think my favourite moments in the shows I've seen lately have been hearing Ed singing what was originally a Steve song. Usually they're halfway into the song before I realize it, which is a testament to how well they've been able to rework those songs and define their sound as a four-piece.

It looks like the guys have added a song to make it 19 (if time permits). The last three nights have seen the return of "Limits" as the opener (as was the case on the summer tour) with "Odds Are" being moved to the run of hits in the second half of the show. I find it interesting that they are playing "All In Good Time" which didn't make the album of the same name. Good song. Many thanks to King Jeff for keeping track of the setlists here: www.setlist.fm/search?query=barenaked+ladies
