We are back with another song interpretation! We are digging deep into the catalog and headed to BOAPS for this week. What is your take on Straw Hat? Hidden gem on this album? Should have been left off? This is a song I forget how much I love it until I hear it again. What are your thoughts?

Love this song. We all know what it's allegedly about, the farmer who stalked Anne Murray. But even with that in mind, I still think it's actually a beautifully written love song. A guy who has an obsession with a woman who doesn't even know he exists. Loving her so much he wants to kill her, "I bring you flowers and a .22 with shells".
I absolutely adore this song. On of my two favourites on this album (the other being Break Your Heart).

I haven't quite nailed it down, but this is my favorite song by them. I have others, we all do, but this song has a special place in my heart. So much so that my first tattoo is gonna reference this song.
Maybe its the composition of the accordian and the rhythmic breathing. Something about it musically gets to me.
But it probably is the fact that this was one of the first songs I ever really heard that told a story and was emotional at the same time instead of one or the other. I just wish I could hear them do this one live.
