It's a no-go for me, sadly! My new little addition will only be 3 months old then, so no traveling for me!

I had resigned myself to be done with cruises, and now this has me a little excited! Probably a 50/50 chance for me to go. I have a lot of questions going through my mind...Would I enjoy a cruise w/o BNL as the main "host" band enough to make it worth the $? How different is the Rock Boat atmosphere from SnD? How much would I miss Guster, who, I believe, are no longer cruising? Where would we find the money anyway? I do like Sister Hazel, The Alternate Routes, and Carbon Leaf (one of our favorites), so it's tempting. Of course, I'm spoiled by SnD, but I'm trying to be open minded about it.

The Rock Boat is great fun. BNL will play 3 times, plus be parts of the Songwriters panels and likely be enfolded in some of the other fun. Not being the hosts that means they will be around the boat without having to dash off to their next scheduled activity. More time for sitting down with them and pictures. Don't be afraid of TRB reputation. It is more of a party atmosphere than S&D, but not crazy at all. You can make the cruise what you want it to be. Check out some of the other bands like Red Wanting Blue, The Mowgli's, Simplified and others. There will also be 10-12 more bands announced. Please let me know if you have any questions as we really enjoy TRB.

I've signed up for the pre-sale. Now I'll spend the next few weeks obsessing and hoping to score a cabin. That's my biggest fear. Is it valid? Otherwise, my friend LeCrete and I are definitely sailing.

The Rock Boat has not sold out the last couple of years until near the sailing date. However, this year adding BNL, which will draw in S&Dippers and Michael Franti that will bring in Rombello cruisers, should increase the likelihood of the boat selling our sooner. I think there is a very good chance that anyone who registers for the pre sale would be fine. You may not get the type of room on the deck you would prefer. Also, The Rock Boat website will go live on Friday. this means Barenaked Ladies will formally announce that they will be on TRB on Friday. That should draw even more BNL fans. One other thing regarding booking times, for TRB pre sale, people that went on TRB last year will be in the first wave, former TRB alumni will be next and then everyone else that sign up for the pre sale will be next. The third group will be assigned a booking time randomly. So the luck of the draw will come into play. I I don't want to act like a know it all here, but we have done the last 3 TRb's , 11 Sixthman cruises (3 S&D's) and are very engaged on the Facebook Sixthman cruise pages. Just trying to help.

Thanks for the info, bnlcincy2! Eases my mind a bit. Both LeCrete and I have registered for the pre-sale since we'll be among those randomly assigned, so we're just waiting. Haven't done TRB, but we've done all S&D cruises. We've always gotten a balcony cabin, which we'd love to do again. But I'll just be happy to sail. So looking forward to this! I've already like TRB Facebook page, the Twitter and am waiting for the site to go live Friday.

Happy to help. We did the last 3 S&D's and had such a good time we just moved to other Sixthman cruises. We have done 9 Sixthman cruises and booking Cayamo and TRB next year. We have developed a great network of friends that started on the S&D message board, on to the cruise, on to other cruises. There are a group of us that you will recognize on TRB from the S&D days that have done the same thing. The rooms that sell the most quickly are the lower interiors. Hopefully there will be a balcony room left. It might be on 9-10 instead of 8. There is also a Rock Boat friends page that I could add you to. Sixthman answers questions and lots of fun banter goes on there. Not sure if we are FB friends. My name is Gordon and my wife is Jennifer. You can make a request to join and someone will add you. Let me know if I can help in any way. And no, I do not work for Sixthman.. Just a big fan.

It's official! And there is a Ladies Room pre-sale email out as well. Anyone signing up through that?

It's official! And there is a Ladies Room pre-sale email out as well. Anyone signing up through that? I tried, with no luck. I'd already signed up for the pre-sale through Sixthman, but the Ladies Room pre-sale gets you in sooner. I guess I'll call Sixthman after the holiday. Don't know that it makes much of a difference, but I wanna be signed up to go. Ya know? And thanks for the info, Gordon! Really appreciate it.

Are you getting an error when you try to sign up with the LR pre-sale? Anyone else try it?
